He holds a degree in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master's degree in International Relations from the Barcelona Institute of International Studies. He is a professor at the Institute of Political Studies at Francisco Marroquin University, where he teaches Sociology.
He was a member of the National Commission for Drug Policy Reform in Guatemala. He is currently the Academic Director and a professor at Escuela de Gobierno.
